Meet Shawn!
About
I’m a humanistic-oriented therapist-in-training completing my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at The Chicago School. My work is grounded in the belief that we grow and heal through genuine relationships where we feel seen, understood, and accepted. I strive to create a collaborative, creative, and compassionate space where you can explore what matters most at your own pace.

I draw from humanistic and psychodynamic perspectives while integrating mindfulness-based and strengths-focused approaches. I support individuals and couples navigating life transitions, stress, identity concerns, relationship challenges, and trauma histories. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and am committed to practicing with cultural humility and respect for each person’s lived experience.

Originally from Louisiana and a Washingtonian for more than 30 years, I spent over two decades working in product and design leadership roles across startups and large organizations before entering the counseling field. That chapter shaped my understanding of professional pressure, change, and meaning-making — experiences that now inform my work with clients.
Outside of therapy, I’m a parent, musician, and lifelong learner. I also have deep lived experience with East Asian and Eastern European cultures. These parts of my life deepen my appreciation for resilience, connection, and the diversity of human experience.
